A Sacred Gathering of Remembrance and Resilience

On Sunday June 14 the grounds of The Irish Memorial will transform into an open air sanctuary of collective memory faith and enduring heritage. We invite the entire community to stand with us at 109 Spruce Street in Philadelphia as we observe one of our most deeply meaningful traditions our Annual Mass preceded by the June Flag Raising Ceremony.

This annual gathering is more than an event. It is a profound act of remembrance. Together we look upon our magnificent bronze monument and honor the millions of souls lost to An Gorta Mor while simultaneously celebrating the unbreakable spirit and resilience of the immigrants who journeyed across the Atlantic to build a new world.

“To look back is to honor the struggles of our ancestors. To gather together is to ensure their legacy outlives the passage of time.”

Schedule of Ceremonies

Our morning together unfolds in two distinct and powerful parts:

  • The June Flag Raising Ceremony: We gather at the flag plaza to raise our colors to honor our shared history and the deep bonds between Ireland and America.
  • The Annual Memorial Mass (11:00 AM): A solemn outdoor Eucharistic liturgy celebrated directly before the historic monument.

Important Gathering Information

Please note that this is an outdoor service held within the public plaza area. While limited park bench seating is available around the perimeter we highly encourage everyone to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to ensure comfort during the gathering. This event is completely free and open to all members of the public.
